The parents of a girl who was attacked and murdered after she left her shift at a Tyler Wal-Mart settled a wrongful death lawsuit with the retail giant just a day before the case was scheduled to go to trial. Megan LeAnn Holden was kidnapped and killed by Johnny Lee Williams, Jr. in January 2005. Her parents, Sheri Dunlap and Vincent Holden said they hoped the settlement will make Wal-Mart parking-lots safer for employees.

Dunlap and Holden sued Wal-Mart and the store's security company The Wackenhut Corporation. They said the companies' negligence resulted in their daughter's death.

Holden was kidnapped January 19th, 2005, from the parking lot of a Wal-Mart Supercenter in Tyler. Johnny Lee Williams Junior later pleaded guilty to the crime and was sentenced to life.

Dunlap and Holden had earlier settled with Wackenhut for $1.3 million.
