The Kugel Mesh Patch has been recalled due to serious and dangerous side effects such as: breakage of the coil ring, abdominal pain, bowl perforation, chronic enteric fistulas, unnatural connections/ tissue growth in between the bowls/ intestine and other organs as well as migration of the recoil ring.

Now Davol, the manufacturer of the mesh, blames the doctors for the broken rings. However, tests prove that it was in fact a malfunction of the ring. The failures always occurred where the ring was supposed to be welded together. Davol then issued 2 more hernia patch recalls after reports had linked the hernia patch to several fatalities and more than 80 injuries and other problems.
