The administrix of the estate of Elizabeth Starr has filed a lawsuit against the Pennsylvania based Mylan Pharmaceuticals. The company was responsible for the distribution of improperly manufactured heart medication, Digitek, that was allegedly responsible for Starr’s death. The heart medication was recalled due to an error in the manufacturing process that allowed some batches of the medication to be produced with twice the appropriate amount of

Starr was prescribed Digitek to treat an irregular heartbeat. The lawsuit alleges that Starr died on May 5 shortly after being administered the defective medication. Numerous other lawsuits have surfaced throughout the country alleging similar reactions to the improperly manufactured medication.

In the six-count suit, Myers claims Starr suffered tremendous pain, suffering and mental anguish prior to her death. Myers seeks compensation, medical expenses and funeral expenses for Starr's estate.
