Bunn-O-Matic Single Cup Coffeemakers Recalled Over Burn Hazard

Bunn-O-Matic Corp. in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of their Bunn® Single Cup Pod Brewers over burn concerns associated with the product. The company has received 10 reports of the pod drawer unexpectedly opening during the brewing the cycle, posing a potential burn risk to consumers using the product. Bunn-O-Matic has received one report of minor burns suffered as a result of the product’s defect.

In all the recall will cover over 35,000 units that were sold at various locations nationwide between August 2004 and March of 2009 for about $300.

Consumers are encouraged to immediately stop using the potentially dangerous coffeemakers and contact the manufacturer to obtain replacement pod drawers that will eliminate the problem.
